As we face difficult times, which we seem to be in today, we can get the feeling that God was in the past and He will do many wonderful things in the future. So we are left with the question: Is there anything for now? We know that Christ is preparing a Kingdom and He will return. But He has also prepared a spiritual place for us as believers where we can abide with Him now, and experience everything He has for us now, not only in the future.
Show Notes: It is difficult for us to think of the time in which we live as having anything from God. We believe that God’s moving was either in the past or will be in the future and what we face today is just tremendous difficulty. But think how difficult it was for the disciples to understand the timeframe they were in before Yeshua (Jesus) was crucified and ascended to the Father. Nothing to them seemed greater than walking with the Messiah on the earth. Yet as He was leaving, He said, “Greater works than these will you do because I go to the Father.”
We are living in that time Christ spoke about, the time when He is at the right hand of the Father. And He told the disciples that this will be a greater time because the Father will give them the Holy Spirit. We need to get that into our hearts. We are not in some lesser time when we are to cower in a corner in fear and just wait for the second coming of Christ. Instead, we are in the tremendous time of the infilling of the Holy Spirit, which opens the door to Christ abiding with us and in us and He and the Father taking up their abode in us.
Yeshua said, “Let not your hearts be troubled.” This is not a time to fear. This is a time to dwell in the glory that Christ won on the cross. As we mature in this life until we are keeping His commandments, the Lord’s promise is that whatever we ask the Father He will do so that He may be glorified in Christ. That is not a promise for heaven. That is not a promise that happens after Christ returns to the earth. That is a promise for now. Within the Holy Spirit is the understanding of all that He has to teach us, and through the Holy Spirit is our access to Christ at the right hand of the Father so that we may dwell in the Father’s presence today.
